My Favorite Summer Accessories

I don’t know about you but I’m ready for the heat already! Enough of the rainy damp Seattle-style weather please: we’re washing away over here in NY! Oh I can’t wait to break out my summer dresses and blouses and shoes. My feet can’t wait to show off their pedicures in pretty golden sandals as I walk around the city whistling, just happy to be in the sunshine. Well I’ll keep this image alive in my head as I walk through the cold NY streets of yet another bleh May day.

The summer accessory that I’m most excited about is the arm bangle that a lot of the designers sent down the runway for summer 2014. Arm bangles are great accessories for almost any outfit. From wearing them with your favorite t-shirt to dressing up your evening dress. The trick is to find the right fit so that you don’t have to keep pulling it up your arm because it has fallen down to your wrist kind of situation. That drives me crazy! If my accessories take too much maintenance then I end up not wearing them and that’s no fun.

I’m also loving the “crush” bag that was sent down the runway for summer 2014. Ya know, the handbag big or small (but preferably on the small side for this style) that you can grab anywhere and go. The bag can crinkle but still look good.

Some of the neck accessories – yes necklaces but not quite – are also pretty great. Versace, Altuzarra, and Chanel come to mind as being the most innovative with neck accessories for this summer. Check them out and let me know what you think!
