Vlog – The Runway Walk

When I was at the height of my modeling career the runway walk was altogether different than what it is today. When I’m now asked to appear in a show, I always have to adjust my walk since I impulsively go to the style it was when I was regularly doing the shows.

I demonstrate this difference through three examples, including “the dramatic walk” of which a variety of interpretations will randomly pop up on the runways of, for example, the wonderfully eccentric and super talented British designers like Vivienne Westwood and John Galliano and the late Alexander McQueen. They were all great fans of creating theatrical fashion events that were more reminiscent of performance art pieces than typical fashion shows!

The mood of the show, the designer, the city and the season can affect the runway walk as well.
