I recently enjoyed one of American Institute of Architect’s (AIA’s) boat tours of lower Manhattan that I spontaneously decided to take. Being a tourist in my own city can be fun sometimes, and when family is visiting it’s the perfect time to enjoy the many riches NYC has to offer.

I had the best time on my recent trip to the beautiful island of Nantucket. I spent every summer of my childhood on this heavenly island, lucky me, and I fall in love with it all over again every time I’m able to revisit.

How do you prep for vacation? What’s more important, the shape your body is in, or the clothes that adorn your physique? I say both.

Here we are again! July. Summer. Exposed flesh. What comes up for you when you read those last two words? Joy? Anger? Terror? Most of us will choose the third option. Why?

Summer’s here and so is the humidity! We’ve had temperatures hit 90 degrees on several occasions so far and the season has just begun – yikes!

I am most certainly not. Except for the rare occasion when I indulge while in Europe (I’ll explain), I am not a coffee drinker. Why? Because it makes me jittery and dizzy; caffeine and I are not a good combo at all.

So, last Sunday night there were two major TV events airing simultaneously: the Tony Awards and the NBA Finals, game 2. I was staying with good friends of mine for the weekend, in their house upstate.

If only I listened to my own advice last week. I had two interviews scheduled: one for NBC’s Cozi TV, and another for SiriusXM radio. For the NBC interview I knew we would be on camera and I always prep well for these appearances.

Last night the Metropolitan Museum hosted the annual fashion extravaganza known as the Met Gala. The evening raises money for the museum’s Costume Institute. 

I submitted my book to my publisher last week and it felt like a tremendous weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Phew. I could breathe again. It’s important to celebrate an accomplishment and not just let the next project immediately takeover.

Last Saturday was the day of the photo shoot with a new model for my upcoming book! It was a fantastic day, full of good energy from the whole team.

I’ve always enjoyed performing in front of a camera. There’s something about being seen that is exciting to those of us who are born with the entertainer’s gene.

Isn’t it amazing how the unexpected always comes around to bite us in the you know what…?! Just when you think “I got this” – you don’t. Arrgghhhhh!

Assembling the selected pictures for my forthcoming book “Insider’s Guide To Teen Modeling & Finding the Supermodel in YOU” (Skyhorse Publishing later this year), I found myself walking down memory lane when I came across one of my UK Elle covers.

Still laughing! Love these two characters and actors. How great that Zoolander and Hansel have re-emerged 14 years after they first won our hearts.

How fortunate I am to have escaped the cold NY temperatures and land in Puerto Rico for a few days! It’s heavenly here and I’m oh so happy to be in the Caribbean with friends for some R&R.

The Oscars were certainly entertaining this year: good jokes, great musical numbers, and at least one upset in the award distribution part of the night, which of course is the point of the evening
